Dr Peter Sargent brings over 18 years of experience working within the life sciences sector, with extensive commercial, scientific and operational expertise across drug and diagnostic development. He has gained significant experience spanning the entire innovation pathway, leading commercial and operational strategy in high growth businesses and governmental organisations, as well as providing R&D advisory services to a variety of biopharma worldwide.
Before joining Physiomics, Peter was a member of the leadership team at Syneos Health Consulting, managing a 70+ staff global management consultancy practice supporting biopharma (emerging to top-tier) with strategy and operational R&D transformation. During this time, he was responsible for business development, project oversight and operations. Prior to that, Peter held a variety of roles; including, but not limited to, Head of Business Development for the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) leading a team supporting global life science businesses gain access to funding and research infrastructure in the UK, and Director of Clinical and Diagnostic Development at hVIVO Plc, developing new preclinical and clinical service offerings at a rapidly growing niche CRO.
Peter has a BSc and MSc in Microbiology from the University of Liverpool and Liverpool School Tropical Medicine respectively, as well as a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from King’s College London.
