Malek Hajjawi is a Quantitative Pharmacology Scientist at Physiomics with expertise in pharmacometrics, population pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modelling, physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling, and model-informed drug development.
Malek earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Jordan and he completed postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Florida and Indiana University School of Medicine. Throughout his research career, he has worked on a broad range of translational and clinical pharmacology projects spanning small molecules, biologics, and precision dosing applications. His experience includes the development and application of population PK models, PBPK models, exposure-response analyses, and quantitative approaches to support drug discovery and development. Malek is proficient in a range of industry-standard software and programming tools, including R, NONMEM, Monolix, nlmixr, Simcyp, GastroPlus, and Python. Malek is passionate about leveraging quantitative methods to improve decision-making across the drug development process and to advance the application of model-informed strategies in healthcare and pharmaceutical research. Malek enjoys bridging clinical insight with computational modelling to generate meaningful outcomes for both pharmaceutical research and patient care.
